Occasionally I get asked what my favorite restaurants are in NYC. The truth is it’s hard to answer that because I have so many. But I will say what my favorite dining experience in NYC is. It’s actually from a woman named Connie Sun and she runs Bite Size Kitchen. It is some of the best food I have ever eaten and the best part of it is…it’s in your own home.

Imagine a top chef descends upon your kitchen and prepares Micheline quality food but with the attention and love that can only come from cooking for a small group of people. This is what you experience with Bite Size Kitchen. I have had Connie come and cook for my friends and family on several occasions and each one has been sublime and different from the other one. She does all this with a warmth that somehow makes you feel that you don’t have a stranger in your kitchen.

Connie can prepare foods as exotic as you would like and can do comfort food as well. I vividly remember having what I can only describe as the best high end Mexican food I have ever had. Taking a cuisine so familiar and then reintroducing me to it with her knowledge of how spices work together.

As if this isn’t enough she completes the experience by being a cocktail mixologist of the highest order. Her drinks are delicious, compliments the food and makes you feel like you are reviving the lost art of the dinner party.

Within all this you can either marvel at or barely even realize the efficiency of the prep work and the clean up. All you know is you had the most decadent food experience in your own home and you didn’t have to wash dishes!

I cannot recommend Connie enough. Just know that if you’re looking for a celebratory dinner option for close friends and you are into doing something unique and deliciously decadent, all you need is the Bite Size Kitchen and you will experience your own kitchen like you never have before.
